FAQ

RoHS means “Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances” in the “Hazardous Substances Directive” in electrical and electronic equipment. … If a product is RoHScertified, this confirms that the proportion of hazardous, or difficult to dispose substances is limited to the maximum allowed.
RoHS is the acronym for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. RoHS, also known as Directive 2002/95/EC, originated in the European Union and restricts the use of specific hazardous materials found in electrical and electronic products.

Organizations often prove RoHS compliance with a letter of compliance issued by an employee of the company. There are third party testing services available that will test an organization’s products for levels of the restricted materials.

An independent review of your factory assessment and sample testing results is carried out before a certification decision is made. On successful completion SGS will issue you with your RoHS certificate and RoHS mark for the certified products. RoHS certification is valid for five years.
