RSPO CERTIFICATION - ROUNDTABLE ON SUSTAINABLE PALM OIL
What is RSPO?
The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) was established in 2004 with the objective of promoting the growth and use of sustainable oil palm products through global standards and multistakeholder governance.
The RSPO has developed a set of environmental and social criteria which companies must comply with in order to produce Certified Sustainable Palm Oil (CSPO). When properly applied, these criteria help minimize the negative impact of palm oil cultivation on the environment and communities in palm oil-producing regions.

Who can be certified RSPO Certification?
The RSPO is a global non-profit initiative that unites stakeholders from the seven sectors of the palm oil industry: oil palm growers, processors or traders, consumer goods manufacturers, retailers, banks/investors, and environmental and social non-governmental organizations (NGOs), to develop and implement global standards for sustainable palm oil.

FAQ
RSPO certification is an assurance to the customer that the standard of palm oil production is sustainable. … All organizations in the supply chain that use RSPO certified sustainable oil products are audited to prevent overselling and mixing palm oil with conventional (or non-sustainable) oil palm products.
The RSPO has become the globally recognized standard for sustainable palm oil. Sustainable palm oil is defined by the eight principles and criteria against which oil palm plantations are certified.
The RSPO Standard for Sustainable Oil Palm Production, approved in April 2013, is presented as a series of Principles, Criteria, Indicators and Guidance, and is designed to be used by oil palm producers to implement sustainable production practices, and by certification bodies for field verification.
