The Morocco Certificate of Conformity

What is The Morocco Certificate of Conformity ?

The Morocco Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is a mandatory document required for the import of regulated products into Morocco. It is part of the country’s Verification of Conformity (VoC) program, initiated by the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Green and Digital Economy in 2020. The CoC confirms that the imported products comply with Moroccan quality and safety standards (NM standards) before they reach the local market. Without this certificate, shipments can be delayed, rejected, or face penalties at Moroccan ports.

To obtain the CoC, exporters must apply through authorized certification bodies such as SGS, TÜV Rheinland, or Applus+. The process involves submitting relevant documentation, including product test reports from accredited labs, invoices, and packing lists. Depending on the product category, testing and physical inspections may be required. Once the product is verified, the CoC is issued and must be uploaded to Morocco’s customs platform, PortNet, for clearance.

A wide range of products require this certification, including electrical appliances, building materials, automotive parts, textiles, toys, and personal protective equipment. As of 2025, Morocco has introduced additional requirements such as environmental compliance and Arabic labeling for select goods. The CoC helps protect consumers, ensure product safety, and streamline customs clearance, making it essential for any company looking to export goods into the Moroccan market
