Document Required for FSSAI License
The specific documents required for an FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India) license can vary depending on the type of food business and the category of the license. However, some common documents that are typically required include:
- Form B (completed and signed)
- Photo identity proof of the proprietor/partner/director
- Proof of possession of premises (such as rental agreement or property documents)
- Food safety management system plan
- List of food products to be manufactured or sold
- Food safety supervisory arrangements
- Water test report from a recognized public health laboratory
- Evidence of premises possession (such as utility bill or property tax receipt)
- NOC from the local municipality or Panchayat
- Declaration form
- Authority letter with name and address of responsible person nominated by the manufacturer
- Source of milk or procurement plan for milk, if applicable
- Import-export code, if applicable

FSSAI registrations are given to trivial or small food businesses whose turnover is less than 12 lakhs per annum.
The FBO (Food Business Operator) requires filing a renewal application within 30 days before the expiry of the license. The renewal application filed after the expiry of 30 days will attract a penalty of Rs. 100/- per day till the submission of the renewal application.
The registering authority is Food safety officer or any officer in the panchayat, municipal corporations or any other local body or Panchayat area notified by the State food Commissioner for registration.
For FSSAI basic registration, the time required for registration is usually between 3-5 days.
